GOOD GRIEF WORKSHOP
FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS
Sponsored by Mount Royal Commemorative Services, Natalie Segall and Jillian Lucht are honored to coordinate the Good Grief Workshops for Children and Teens, under the Umbrella of Good Grief Central. This biannual, free workshop is for children and adolescents 5 – 19 years old who have experienced the death of someone close to them.
Age-specific groups led by a team of trained volunteers will provide a group format to help children understand and express their grief. The workshop will involve structured activities that are designed to give children the opportunity to share their feelings with other grieving children, learn from each other, and honor the memory of the person who died.
On the same day, we also offer a concurrent Parent Discussion Group to give parents/guardians the opportunity to discuss the topic of children’s grief.
The most recent Good Grief Workshop for Children and Teens was held held at Selwyn House School on Saturday, November 15, 2019, and we had an awesome day! As always, to our wonderful volunteers: Heartfelt thanks go out to each and every one of you for the great work you do at the Good Grief Workshops.
For the Good Grief Workshop held on Saturday, November 24, 2018, we were truly honored by the visit of author Monique Polak! Everyone was rapt when Monique spoke to us, and read from her book, 'Planet Grief.' Thank you so much, Monique! Also, thanks to the generosity of a Good Grief Central supporter, every Workshop participant received an autographed copy of 'Planet Grief.'
If you would like to join us at the next Good Grief Workshop for Children and Teens, please contact us. We look forward to seeing you!
Please feel free to contact Natalie Segall or Jillian Lucht at any time.
